A very warm day at Pioneer Pastimes. The Nauvoo Brass Band comes by to play a couple of times a day, and Greg likes to get the kids to dance with him.

It was the hottest day so far, and we could have closed by 10:30 a.m. because of the heat, but we hung on until 12:30. Everyone was gone by then anyway, seeking shade and cool buildings. The temperature was 95 with a 60% humidity, which is about 110 degree heat index. We get to close at 104 or 105 heat index.
We spent the remainder of our service hours in the Family Living Center, tying strings on the end of the rugs, and working on the shawl loom.Aug. 4, Wed.
A good day serving at the Cultural Hall and playing for the Anna Amanda shows, but always in the back of my mind was the thought of Nick and Laura traveling today to come and see us.
But they made it successfully, even though the plane was delayed, and they arrived a little later than planned, getting to our house a little after 11:00 p.m. in the cute little rental car.
